Introduction
Dark Tide Tech Dive Expedition Base is a store located in the northern suburbs of Taipei city.
Owned and operated by Phil Hsieh it focuses more on technical diving rather than recreational diving. It is the go to place for those interested in Tech diving, tech diving is a small subset of the diving industry, however tech divers are usually dedicated to the sports and invest large amounts or time and energy.
Technical diving not only requires additional training, but also involves much more logistics in planning and execution.
Dark Tide Tech Diving Expedition Base provides technical dive training, tech gear rental, sales, service and maintenance. They carry some of the most renown equipment brands including Halcyon, Apeks, 4th element, DUI, Shearwater and Heirichs Weikamp.

Phil owner of Dark Tide
Phil began his scuba diving career taking his open water diver course in 2000, he progressed and began his dive master in 2003.
Continuing his pursuit for further skills and knowledge he turned to technical diving and became an IANTD instructor in 2007 and focused on technical diving training. Phil used to teach National Museum of China’s Underwater Archeology team from entry level tech dive course to Normoxic Trimix.
As an instructor, Phil continues to learn and became DPV diver, Tech Wreck diver, Tech Cave diver, Essentials instructor, and eventually in 2015 became Normoxic Trimix Instructor Trainer. As a technical diver, he also pursued certification for various equipment service technician status.
